About the Planning Board
The Planning Board consists of nine (9) regular members in four (4) classes: Class I: Mayor Class II: One(1)of the officials of the Borough other than a member of the Governing Body Class III: A member of the Governing Body Class IV: Six(6)other citizens of the Borough, Four(4)Alternates: One(1) Class II; One(1)Class III; Two(2)Class IV The Planning Board generally meets on the second Tuesday of each month. The members of the Planning Board are appointed by the Mayor, except the Class III member, who is appointed by the Governing Body. The Planning Board is established in accordance with Ordinance 16-1 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Borough of West Long Branch. Members of the Planning Board are considered "local government officers" pursuant to the Local Government Ethics Law and are subject to its terms, including the requirement of filing a financial disclosure statement.
