    Intern Job Responsibilities:

    - Intern will assist various departments as needed with basic office duties, such as filing, copying and other tasks

TAX ASSISTANT/ HUMAN RESOURCES/FINANCE CLERK, BOROUGH OF WEST LONG BRANCH, Monmouth County.  The Borough of West Long Branch is accepting applications for the full-time position of Tax Assistant/Human Resources/Finance Clerk in the Finance Department.  The main duties include collection of taxes, and miscellaneous revenue. Position includes assisting the Tax Collector with receipts, deposits, and end of day reconciliations.  Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting with preparation and mailing of tax bills and correspondence, providing office support and general clerical duties including but not limited to purchase order filing, responding to residents in person, assisting with planning and zoning packet assembly, processing checks to be mailed, and answering phones. There will also be various confidential human resources duties to assist the Borough Administrator.  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential for this position, along with the ability to multi-task efficiently and effectively in a high activity work environment. Candidate must be customer service oriented and possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, officials, and the public.  Preferred applicants will have proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel, or the ability to learn the same.  Prior Tax Collector’s Office and knowledge of Edmunds Software in local government a plus, but not required.  The candidate must have the ability and willingness to abide by the Borough’s policy and procedures as well as drug and alcohol testing policy.  Full-time position with excellent benefit package.  The salary range is $40,000.00 - $45,000.00.  Email cover letter, resume, to Jason Gonter, Borough Administrator at: Jgonter@westlongbranch.org.
