The Recreation Commission consists of seven (7) members and two (2) alternates.
The Recreation Commission generally meets on the second Monday of each month.
The members of the Recreation Commission are appointed by the Mayor. However, a vacancy occurring otherwise than by expiration of term of the alternate members shall be filled by the Governing Body for the unexpired term only.
The Recreation Commission is established in accordance with Ordinance 2-25 of the Revised General Ordinances of the Borough of West Long Branch and N.J.S.A. 40:12-1 et seq.
In accordance with AG Opinion 91-0132, members of the Recreation Commission are considered "local government officers" pursuant to the Local Government Ethics Law and are subject to its terms, including the requirement of filing a financial disclosure statement.
