Obtaining Police Reports
Due to staffing issues, to obtain a police report, please email the request to the following email address:
Please include as much of the following as possible:
Case number
Nature of incident
Name of involved parties
Date and location of incident
Reports are generally available 5-7 business days from the date of the incident, however certain reports may take longer to become available for release.
Accident Reports will be ready in 5 business days. Reports are available during regular business hours or they can be retrieved electronically through Carfax 24/7.
Minor, non-injury accident participants can register their accident with the state through the use of a self-reporting NJ State Accident Form which can be found on NJ State DOT website. Please follow the instructions provided on the form on how to send the form to the state. This same form can be used when the police were not called to the scene to conduct an investigation.
Please have ID ready when asking for a copy of a police report.
